Gaslighting

What is gaslighting? Making someone doubt their own reality, explained.

Gaslighting is a pattern of manipulation where someone makes you doubt your own memory, perception, or judgment — denying things they clearly said or did, insisting you're "too sensitive" or "remembering it wrong." It's a serious form of emotional harm, not just a heated disagreement or an honest difference in memory. If you consistently leave conversations more confused about your own reality than when you started, that's worth taking seriously, ideally with support outside the relationship.
