Soaking is when two people who've agreed to abstain from sex have penetrative sex without moving, telling themselves it doesn't count because there's no thrusting. Spoiler: it's still sex. The term picked up steam online describing a workaround some purity-culture communities use to technically keep a pledge while not really keeping it.
